Hayward is da man! I have " Joinery and Carpentry " vol. 1-6 , second edition. It's never let me down. No date, I'm guessing 1930's. Machines were well established but hand benchwork was still rampant.
He was once called upon to authenticate a set of Chippendale chairs he made 25 years earlier.Cheers, Bill
