Cheese press
Afternoon everyone.
After posting my last project on here and working out that I may have been a little hard on myself, here is project number 2.
I needed a new cheese press (I used to use bricks) and after looking at the cost of them, I decided to build one myself.
Here is the product of the last few weekends, all ready for assembly. Hopefully will be done tomorrow.
Wood is tas "oak" and redgum finished with hard shellac.

Quite happy with the outcome so far. I will take some close up photos of my joinery once done.
Criticisms welcome..
Thanks

My only criticism is that no cheese is being made! :P - Would love to see both the final product of the press as well as some cheeses! Great work!

With the expansion and contraction of the board do you expect the mitres of you edging to stay closed? The smaller boards may be OK but the large one would have me worried.

Thanks guys,
Blackforester - No idea. The edges are about 25mm with plenty of titebond but they may still move I guess.
As long as it is good when I build it, I am happy
I think I will have some time tonight to assemble..

I love the way this has turned(pun intended) out. I really want to see how this holds up when you make some cheese.
