    Default Chess board

Finished this one today. A chess board for my brothers birthday.

The top is made from walnut and beech veneer the rest from Aust oak.

    Turned out ok I think.

I'm interested to know how you allowed for movement in the frame? Floating panel maybe..?

As Whit 68 used veneer I guess he would not be worried by seasonal movement
I've just become an optimist . Iv'e made a 25 year plan -oopps I've had a few birthdays - better make that a 20 year plan

Thanks for the kind words everyone, I'm delivering it on Saturday so hoping for a good response.

As for wood movement I glued the veneer to an mdf substrate so don't think I need to be too worried about timber movement.

    Regards
    Anthony
