Dennis
Thank you for explaining your position on your videos to us and the tenuous connection to commercial interests. It is just like your videos: Right up front and I like that. From my part please keep them coming.

I'm with Paul, the fact that you make the effort to come on here and explain your position honestly just goes to show that you are doing it for us not for yourself. The fact that you might get a little bit back is well deserved but not your intended purpose. I really appreciate all the effort that must go into making these videos for us as I can't ever imagine being dedicated enough to do something like that myself. You have one of the most well thought out and neat workshops I have seen. I envy your creativity.
Please keep up the good unbiased work and don't be discouraged by those looking for the negatives or ulterior motives in everything. Really enjoy watching your videos for the content and also the accent in your voice.Dallas

As someone who appreciates the depth and quality of these reviews, I will wholeheartedly second this. There are a lot of tools I still need to gather before my shop (which itself isn't complete) is kitted out, and this series shows which ones are worth buying versus those that aren't.
Please keep up the excellent work, Dennis!

Quality, unbiased reviews are increasingly hard to come by. Please keep it up, and continue to post them here. I'm sure that if the owners/mods had an issue with them, you'd have heard from them directly long ago - so just ignore the extraneous noise!

just as a question, what are you using for a microphone in your work shop? its just very echo'y.... nothing that makes the video unwatchable but its very noticable, especially when you have a nice voice over when looking at web sites.
is there a good china microphone you can buy/test out to try and combat this ?
otherwise keep up the awesome work. but i do get where you're coming from, i don't think people totally understand just how long it takes to make and edit a youtube video. i've made a couple about random topics and if it doesn't double a project time (triple it by the time you add in editing) i'd be very surprised.

You are right about the time it cost. People ask me sometimes to do project video's. But to film this and edit this in a nice way is so time consuming, that I do not like the project anymore. You have to think about the project, but also, what angel can I take a shot, how will this look at the video. What is my message with this shot etc. So from that point of view, these reviews are much easier to make.
I had a Rode camera mic (the expansive one) but I bought a new one recently witch is better. I want to try next time with a mono setting. perhaps this helps, or I need to do something about my acoustics.
I do not want a microphone to wear because I do not like that when I have to do woodworking with it.
