belt sander belts
A question from those that have belt sanders and replace belts regularly
I have a sander but never bought belts for it and now the one that came with it has shredded (oops). How do I know the length of belt I need? Is it the entire length like a bandsaw or just across the base? I don't really want to lug the sander with me to the hardware store. No bunnies store here with their highly qualified staff to ask
cheers

Like a bandsaw the length is the circumference. The most common sizes are 533 X 75, 610 X 75, 610 X 100. In saying that when you go and look you will find a who civilization of sizes as well. So its best to run a tape around the sander at least that will give you an idea of where to start looking
Another thing you will need to know is of course what grit. I usually buy a number at a time so there is always one in stock for...OOPSJust do it!
Kind regards Rod

THE SAND PAPER MAN is where you can get your needs, the model of your sander must be on the tool somewhere so look that up then ring around for availability and price.
