    Default Chopsticks

Just had a go at making some chopsticks.
Cut timber on the bandsaw then ran it through the drum sander then stuck each stick into a cordless drill and used my linisher to get the taper. Hand sanded and mineral oil to finish. The little rests are laminated blocks left over from ukulele necks.

Very nice, what’s the timber for each set and the rests?
    Cheers

Redgum, Sheoak and Tasmanian Myrtle. The rests are a mix. Huon, Jarrah, Claret Ash and Wenge. Blackwood, Jarrah and Claret Ash

Managed to make some chopstick sets today. In all around 70 sticks. I still have a few to finish sanding and cut to size. I will then cut up the rests. All have had a coat of mineral oil.

Well done Cal. They look real nice and I'd be happy to eat food with them that you've cooked for me...

    Nice work.

I do a set of two pairs in a presentation box that I send to Singapore to a lady who o sells them through her business. I’ve done hundreds and hundreds of packs of the things.

I like to say that I might be Australia’s largest maker of handmade chopsticks selling into the Asian market. Hilarious I reckon.

    cheers

Nice work, Cal. I made a set of six from silver ash for a boxed set, but I planed the taper and the round.
