Chunky laminating
Iam thinking of joining several redgum fence posts flush together in order to get a large piece. I then want to use this as a large block for carving into.
Any suggestions as to how would be very much appreciated.

Can be done.. the trick is to be able to machine the individual pieces straight and square before you glue them up.
I'm not sure what machinery you have, a jointer and planer are the best machines. Failing that you can build a 'router bridge' that will let you plane / joint large pieces of wood easily enough. With a bit of skill it can even be done with hand tools
Once you get the edges straight and square it's just a matter of glueing and clamping them up untill the glue sets.
For indoor use basically any wood glue will be OK. For outdoor use something like Gorilla polyurethane (or a cheaper brand). An epoxy glue will fill gaps if you aren't able to machine the wood perfectly straight (and it's waterproof), but the glue lines will be more obvious.
Cheers
