one can never have too many enough clamps
Brand New Tool from Lee Valley -- the Veritas® Spider Vice
from Lee Valley's copy
one can never have too many clamps
Until now!
The Veritas Spider Vise is about to spark a revolution in work-holding technology. Traditional vises and clamps work fine for linear thinkers, but force application along only one axis at a time is incredibly limiting. Try clamping a triangular frame with a single clamp and see how that works. In fact, the prevalence of standard linear clamps is what has regimented furniture and cabinet design into endless variations of the square. Sure, some people have worked hard at dressing it up, changing proportions or adding a bombe front, but they're still basically a construct of squares. Cubes, squares, rectangles ...
The Veritas Spider Vise provides unprecedented flexibility in work holding.

Funny thing is, yesterday I went looking for this year's gag and there was nothing there.....then I realised it was still March 31 over there...
Being too quick on the trigger is a constant complaint.

Celebrating All Fool's day
It's a pity the majority live in a different time zone and we get the best (or worst) efforts a day late.
I have just been looking at the Woodworker's Journal eZine for 1-4-13 or 4-1-13 as they would have it.

But I can think of times when that would be great. Might go and invent it. :P
