coin activated bank slot
Hi,
normally I lurk in the turning forums, but am looking to find a supplier of coin activated bank slots. I have found them on 2 OS sites, but wondered if there are any aussie suppliers.
This is a description of what I'm after:
Electronic Music Boxes
Coin Activated Bank Slot & Touch Activated Music Boxes
The coin ( bank slot ) music box plays a tune when a coin is dropped into the slot at top.
Picture of it:

any help appreciated

Oh yes... I remember them...one of the woodcraft suppliers used to have them, havnt seen them in a catalogue for ages though.
Its not difficult to make your own if you can get one of those electronic music mechanisms.... all you need to do is extend the two wires out from the trigger contacts so the coin makes the trigger circuit complete, or conbtrive some other way to operate a simple ( read crude) switch to trigger the mech.
have you tried one of the clock mech crowds like johonathan knowles.
youv'e just given me an idea

Just joined forum. Trying to find a USA source for the Bank Music slots as pictured. Have previously gotten them from a Colorado supplier, Crafter's Mart, but it appears they are no longer in business. Really want to find another supplier. Any ideas? So far I haven't found ANY other suppliers. I have noticed that all "slots" I've gotten in past 6 years carry a tag indicating "made in China".

Hi JD,
In another life I was a tech in the office equipment industry and we used coin boxes on photocopiers in libraries etc.
Two of the suppliers were Abberfield Technology and Hammerfield Industries.
Would suggest you contact one of the office equipment service businesses in your area. They may help with an old one.
Hope you have success.Cheers
Baz
