Default Compound cupboard door hinge with pivot hinge mounting

Hi Guys, just wondering if anyone knows of a compound 6 bar linkage hinge that can be mounted like a pivot hinge. I've built a wall unit without any vertical partitions (only the two ends) and need to attach the hinging systems on the horizontal top and bottom members. The hinges really need to be compound because the doors are 30mm thick with little clearance between them.
    thanks.

I'll give you 99% odds that it doesn't exist. Can't say for sure, but I've seen a lot of hardware catalogues working as a cabinet maker and never seen anything like what you want.

Thanks for that elanjacobs. I thought that may be the case. I've trawled the net to no avail.
Maybe I'll have to make some up, but designing an appropriate six bar linkage is no mean feat (well for me anyway!!!).

Could you live with a compound hinge connected to some angle or small block connected to the horizontals, or is that too ugly?

Yes we considered this option before I started the unit, but the other half opted for hinged doors. It's finished now and on the wall. (but without doors!!!)

That could always be an option I guess. The top wouldn't be too bad. It could be located on the inside of the unit and wouldn't really interfere with shelf space, but the lower one would be a little average.
I'll have a go at designing a linkage pivot hinge. Seems this software is recommended for this type of geometry development: https://www.geogebra.org/download
The more you study the standard cupboard compound hinge, the more you realise how much went in to the design of these units. It's really very clever, not only for the movement, but also for the integral latching. Someone would have spent a long time developing this system.

This is it Kryn. There are to be ten doors at 400mm wide and 30mm thick

Lookie what I found L&C Hardware Indutrial Limited_HS15B
Face mount hinges on a 90 degree bracket to mount to the top and bottom.

Yes that is the case elanjacobs, but they are off set and aren't suitable for hinge mounting.

Thanks for that elanjacobs. It could be an option. I'm going to have a go at designing something and getting the linkages laser cut out and use shoulder screws for the pivots. If I can get my head around the geometry, I can then mount them as in the pivot hinge style. Thanks again.

I ran this past Karen (she'll be the one accessing the contents) and she's not real keen on the idea. I can see how this could work though. Piano hinge at the top (maybe two butt hinges) with gas struts for auto opening once a bottom latch was released. Some type of retractable cord would also be required so she could pull the door down for closing.
