Concealed hinge tolerance
I have decided to use concealed hinges ie blum for a number of cabinet doors I made. However some of these doors have large 6mm strengthened glass panels and are quite on the heavy side. Just wondering if concealed hinges have the same or near weight tolerance as say, brass butt hinges which was my first choice but are so damn expensive these days. Any thoughts anyone?

Hi Stinger9, I did a uick google search and found a article by Rockler which shows the number of blum hinges needed on a door based on either its weight or size:

Hope this helps.

The factor kilogram to pound conversion is 2.24.
Pounds divided by 2.24 = Kilograms

Put them on the bathroom scales and they weigh 9.4 kgs and with a door height of 1200mm 3 hinges should do according to the chart. Thanks again.
