try The Cooper and His Trade By Kenneth Kilby - it turn up on ebay/amazon also 'Coopers and coopering' by ken Kilby are both a good start.

if you google 'coopered buckets' or coopering buckets you will find lots of videos on how to make coopered wooden buckets there is also this site which has video of craftsmen from about 1932 with some great info including one that is on coopering buckets Träskomakeri, träskedstillverkning, stolmakeri (utan ljud) 1923 - Öppet arkiv | SVT Play their workcis made to look all so simple, but done with some skill, they are great just to see the technique, very quick simple techniques - make you want to give it a go. I wish I had more time...

I have too many hobbies - one of them wants to make coopered barrels/buckets.

I can't help much with a course in coopering. I do plan an article when I can get it together. In the meantime I built a cooper's jointer here:
