That is really a neat piece Fletty!!

Haven't checked in here for a while so it's nice to see the progress.

    Default ... and (almost) finished!

I fitted the glass into the cabinet door using traditional caulking and glazing beading on the inside but the glass in the fixed panel was slid into place via the slots in the top and the hollow rail. A drop of caulk in the bottom rail stopped any rattling...

I made a simple gifkin-box drawer and false front which fitted into the bottom mount drawer rails

A few initial coats of WOP, magnet catches on the cabinet door and it was (almost) finished

Everything closed gave it a bit more elegance but it is still an imposing piece of furniture.

No more pics now until it is in its final place. It has been fun and, as with most one-off pieces, problem solving on the run is essential.

thanks for coming on the journey, fletty

Looks really good - the "new" owners should be well pleased as you should also be with your efforts and result.

Looking forward to the final pix when it is in situ.
