Default Correct screws for fastening T & G plywood flooring (19mm) to hardwood joists?

    Hi guys,

I am laying 19mm T & G plywood flooring onto hardwood joists (100 x 50) and want to know what screws to use so that I don't have to drill any pilot holes....I intend to putty the screw holes and paint with paving paint...

Thanks for any ideas you can give me.

    Regards
    Greg

Any good self-tapping flat head screw, about 50mm long, zinc-plated is fine. Use 150mm apart on the sheet edges and 300mm apart on the interior joists. I like square or torx head because, IMO, they don't cam-out as readily as Philips head, but any will do.
    Cheers,

    Bob

Depending on the hardwood you may still need to predrill... Aussie HW is known for snapping screws if you dont pilot!
