Default COVID-19 Telling your feel-good story

Many years ago my friend Geoff and I went to Bunnings after a visit to Carbatec. I spotted a big box of clamps in the clearance section, and right away I knew they were Bessey clamps. They were all marked down to $2 to $6 each. We took the whole box without even checking what else was in it. We ended up with around 40 clamps each for a little more than $100. It's a shame they did not stock the K-body.

I will never forget that day, and it still makes me smile when I think of it.

It's been an odd couple of months for me. A fair bit of loss but also had so much more time to work on projects and having my tools back home means I'm working on things daily.

As I result of this I've used my hand tools more in the last month than I have in the last 3 years. And actually remembering why I got into this stuff, got really sidetracked dealing with machinery restores and then wondered why I never wanted to go to the shop anymore. It's because I kind of just did that stuff as a means to an end but then it took over and now I have a bunch of half finished machinery sitting around making me feel guilty. Going back to using my hand tools and slowing down, really enjoying myself again. And I've actually been fairly productive, built a moxon vise and hoping to finish off my first shooting board tomorrow afternoon if work complies.
