How to a cracked floorboard, next to the door?
Gday all, I have had this problem with a couple of houses, and have never worked anything out, so I thought id ask an expert or two!
The first floorboard as you walk into a house seems to always crack. After all, it is wedged between hardwood and the next board, but takes a huge amount of stress and strain. There never seems to be enough joists in the right position.
It is never easy to rip up the floorboard and replace it, as the door jams are on top of it!
Have just bought a house where there is about 20mm of the floorboard cracked off, and the rest of the floorboard is at a lower level to the bit of hardwood
I am thinking- screw the loose bit down as best as i can (which wont be very well), then somehow top the level up
Will BUILDERS BOG or a SELF LEVELLING COMPOUND work well? Any other ideas?
All help much appreciated!
