A Cuppla New Reviews
Have posted a couple new reviews this week:
- Taunton's Illustrated Guide to Furniture & Cabinet Construction
( I bought it off amazon.com, but I think it goes for about $80 here in Oz)
- Ryobi ECS1519 Pro Series Circular Saw

Reveiws
Hi Dean, I enjoy your reviews & feel that they are detailed enough to help make an informed decision when purchasing. I believe that your work is unbiased & provides good info. I would like to see more info on better quality products rather than the "gMC's, Ryobi's etc, etc".
Great work Dean, keep it up!
Regards Sandman.

Hi Sandman,
Thanks for the comments. Its tough getting my hands on some of the "good stuff" to review at times, although I have got a few Festool products here waiting to be reviewed, plus some other quality gear, so stay tuned. How much wood could the woodchuck chuck if the woodchuck could chuck wood?

Dean,
as per my email to you a few weeks back, GMC have updated their website.
This is the tidy bit of work that will be replacing the existing bikkie machine.
Keep up the good work on your site. YOur reviews are great,

Likewise with the reviews Dean on this BB and in the recent AWR. Keep up the good work it is helpful when making a decision on what to buy.
Hopefully the suppliers understand this concept and give you heaps of their gear to review.- Wood Borer

Dean,
I too enjoy your website and read all your reviews, your beadlock review was particularly good, as was the GMC router. Keep up the good work!
I'd appreciate it if you could give us some insight into how the review process works. Do you call the companies and ask them to send you a product? Do they ask for readership/hits or any other stats first? Do you then send the product back?
Do they try any sweetners tor other tactics to ensure a favourable review?
Are they generally happy for you to review their products, or wary?Cheers,
Adam

Yes they generally ask for stats, readership details, and innumerous other items. I guess they need proof they will get good marketing potential from a review on the website.
I didn't really get any offers from anyone until I had posted perhaps 25-30 reviews on my site. I guess they want to see that it is an established site.

In my normal day job I am a magazine editor (not woodworking related however). How much wood could the woodchuck chuck if the woodchuck could chuck wood?
