    Default I struck gold

So I did a bit more research and sent a cut list to 5 companies for pricing. It’s worth us a doing a bit of legwork to get the best supplier as we will be needing a lot of this over the next two years.

I chose K and C Styles in Milton st, Tuggerah. They had the lowest price and were super-DIY-friendly. Yesterday I picked up a couple of pallets of cut pieces (my first order) from them and have just finished sorting and checking it. It’s all perfect - accurate to the sub-millimetre, perfectly square, and chip free edges. Robust edging that doesn’t want to come off. One day turnaround.

So I highly recommend them. In fact I would probably travel there to get the work done even if I we were still living on the Northern side of Sydney.

I’m spending today making jigs and fences to make the assembly process easy and accurate.

Building a house is a costly business but every now and then you get a huge win. If this service remains available over the rest of the build it will be one such win.

Thank you for the replies and recommendations. Even if a recommendation doesn’t pan out it is still valuable because it helps you to know you have covered the field.

    Cheers
    Arron

    Default This is so good

Order number two sitting on my Ute in our driveway about to be unloaded. This is all the cut-to-size to make the cabinet carcasses for the downstairs kitchen. This was just under $800 including supply of hmr and edging with 1mm thick. I’ve unloaded and sorted through and all perfect chip-free edges, accurate and square. All edging in the right places.

Order number three (mainly under stair storage cabinets) is with them for cutting, and number four (mainly cabinet doors) is being prepared now. I make hay while the sun shines.

I’m so pleased with this I just wanted to share.

Pen, paper and calculator? You really shouldn't need more than that.

Yep, paper pencil and calculator. Low tech approach.

The walls where the cabinets will go are lined and painted white so I draw them on the wall with chalk and my wife and I massage the look till we get a pleasing design.
