Cut to size service on Central Coast
Hi. Does anyone know a cut to size service for melamine faced pineboard on the NSW Central Coast.
I would like accurate and affordable, of course.
Cheers

What sizes are you after?
Are you trying to get large sheet goods broken down? Didnt really know they made solid pine board with melamine on it.
There is a kitchen joinery place in morisset that will do walk in orders, not sure if they will let you bring your own materials though, but i'd call around a few of those style of places if you have a whole bunch of repeatable stuff you need made.

Pineboard, particleboard - same thing.
To explain:
I’m making cabinetry for my own kitchen, bathroom, laundry etc.
I’ve just finished the wardrobes - which was OK but I decided I’d rather have someone else do the bulk of the cutting - just too hard handling those big sheets on my own.
Years ago (mid 90’s) I did a kitchen by getting all the boards cut too size by Sam Issa Kitchens in Fairfield. They would supply and cut too any dimensions for a very low cost - I’d just take in sheets of A4 paper showing the layout of the cuts on each sheet - then pick up a few days later and take home for assembly. Every cut was perfect.
Over the next few years I did the laundry, bathroom , and then our investment properties, and then MIL’s kitchen but by that time it was getting much harder to find good cut to size so I started cutting myself - which was ok but never as fast or accurate. Now I’m getting older and I’ve had it with lifting those big sheets.
The compromise position I guess is to buy sheets from Bunnings or Mr plywood or whoever, and get them to do an initial cut or two to break the board down to manageable sizes which preempt their final dimensions.
However I’m wondering if there is anyone still doing a detailed cut to size, without having to pay from 5 to $12 per cut as the local places are asking - a price which is ok if you just want the board broken down but not ok for detailed cut to size.
CheersApologies for unnoticed autocomplete errors.

Not according to my good friend google.
But yeah, these guys Cabinet Makers in Central Coast | Gateway Manufacturing up at morisset even though they say trade only will do normal sales. Maybe send them a message/call and see what they say.

Yeah....Google isn't good with colloquial trade jargon. CHH (now owned by Borg) called their PB CustomPine, it's all the same stuff.
MadeCo in Melbourne are good if you really get stuck. We had a fair bit done by them at work before we got our own CNC.

Yep way back before google and and way before the internet, it was just called Pineboard the brand from the major manufacturer, we used to purchase from Howard Silvers, the only place it was ever referred to as particle board was Trade school, there was no MDF and the was no Melamine coated.

Aarron if you can wait a couple of weeks I’ll have my big panel saw set up and you can bring as many sheets as you like and we will cut them to whatever size and shape you like, at Somersby.

In The Good Old Days, Pyneboard was the brand name for CSR's product. There were other manufacturers who had their own brand names: Sunboard, Wesboard, Panelboard, Brimmsboard and Burnieboard. All were Particleboard made with a three layer process, except Brimmsboard which was a five layer board and was prefered for veneers as it stayed flatter.
I miss the "golf day" when prices were set for the following year.

Bill's Board Factory at Chatswood would be your closest. They will cut to size and edge if required.
