Cutting board inlay project for christmas

that is my recent project cutting board inlay for my friends as a Christmas gift.
the cutting board made of walnu t(size 30*20cm, size a little bit small, but that is only size i got in hands).
inlay strip (silver ash, queen ebony, mahagoni, cherry,etc)

here is the sample i made before start the project (jarrah base)

that is the mould i made for the strip make sure precise to fit the notch.( the thickness planer will cause the snipe)

Glue the strip

wipe some tung oil on surface to see the true wood color appearance.

trimmed the edge of cutting board made it round
tung oil i used on cutting board (toxic free)

Conclusion:
1. the precision of wood cutting pieces and time consuming are the key for the inlay project, the size of the cutting board is slightly small.
2.That would be much better outlook if size around 40*25cm
3. the wood strip and walnut color contrast can be improved
