cutting boards and wood shrinkage
So I'm a hobby wood guy... not much experience really. I'm playing around with making Cutting Boards and having fun.
Although I'm having a hard time with shrinkage. The pieces that are side grain are shrinking way more than end grain.
So was my wood to wet? Dont really know as I don't have a meter.
Should I not mix side and end grain in same board?
Do I just wait for a while and then flatten the board again?
Thanks for any help you might offer.

You shouldn't mix end grain and side grain on any project as wood will always move (shrink and expand) more across the grain, and it has very little movement along the grain.

Once cut across the grain, the length never changes.
