Its a 20 A circuit (recommended) and the TS appears to have 'soft start' functionality. Dont have any problems with it.

    115v X 30A = 3450W or 4.6hp
    240v X 15A = 3600W or 4.8hp

Finally got around to trying this today.
I decided on the 'cut half way through and turn it over' method suggested by someone here.
It worked out better than I hoped. Only thing was I had to make sure the thin piece I cut off didn't get dragged back along the saw blade, once it was cut through. No biggie
I glued the jarrah to both sides of a piece of scrap timber ( so I had something to hang on to during the last cut. )
The pieces are about 6 mm thick and just need a very light sand before I cut the coasters out on the CNC.

    Nice work.

Actually, the Hammer K3 is 4 hp (mine is) and with a 12" blade you have 4" of cutting depth. But I'd rather use a bandsaw!

    Hi Derek,
I chose to go with the 3hp motor and have the 12" blade but it was still not deep enough to cut in one pass.
The finish I got with the Hammer was awesome. I don't think you would anywhere near the same finish if I had used a band saw.
It probably doesn't matter that much but it just means less prep work for me, before I can start engraving.
