    Default Cypress timber 2 questions.

I want to make some cypress pine ledge and brace doors to replace the cardboard ones we have. Could anyone tell me the difference between Murray River Cypress and White Cypress and if Black Cypress exists? Secondly I plan a trip up around the Hunter Valley NSW and then across to the Pilliga Forest. Does anyone know of a sawmill where I could buy some t&g Cypress for making doors?
    Thanks in advance, Michael

Black Cypress is not a good building product. Gunnedah Sawmill will have what you want. Just to be on the safe side I would ring them to be sure they have what sizes you are after. They can also kiln dry the Cypress if you need (hence the ring first). They used to cut a lot from the Pilliga but the Forestry have change the rules and I don't know from where they are sourcing their logs
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod

A lot of cypress was harvested in the Riverina and MIA but I can't tell you the names of any
millers. Perhaps Dr. Google could help.
