Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on a tricky problem I have.

I am finishing off some handrails for a deck (which I started last year, finally getting a chance to finish it off). The design incorporates a top rail and two lower rails (which will have 42 x 42 verticals attached to them).

Here's my problem. My upright posts are 88mm x 88mm and the lower rails (82mm x 30mm) will intersect at a corner at 90degrees on the inside of the post. I have rebated in at the corner of the upright to a depth of 30mm and the ends of each length of the lower rails are bevelled @ 45 to meeet in the corner rebate. What is the best way to attach them at the corner to the upright post whcih wil look the neatest and doesn't have nasty nails hanging out or involves putty?

Any help on the best way of attaching them would be greatly appreciated.
