Deck oil grey ironbark
Hi there!
Just finishing up our deck at the moment (few bits to go though) and thought i'd put some research into oils.
I've spent a few hours going through the forums but i'm still unclear as what to use.
I was pretty much sold on spa n deck untill I realised that they all have tints (no clear) and we want to preserve the natural coulour as much as possible.
I'm not sure if i like the sound of sikkens sitting on top and the finish it gives also.
Any advice on a quality easy to use deck oil for our grey ironback deck would be greatly appreciated. We have spent a lot of our hard earned $$ on this deck and want to get it right the first time
Here are some pics also

Hi Andrew,
Welcome to the site. Very nice looking deck by the way.
As you have noticed the deck oils have pigment. I have used Wattyl deck oil for the last 5 years and it does darken the timber a bit but not a lot. I got a 10ltr tin and am still using it.
I have heard that Wattyl may not be around soon but have not looked for any more yet.
I would still go for oil rather than poly or varnish as oil is so easy to reapply at a later date.
Regards
John

Nearly finished the deck, i'll put up some more pics before and after oiling.

Hi Andrew7,
You could also use Cabot's aqua deck. I've used that on my front merbau fence. It's supposed to last longer than traditional oil (allegedly, time will tell).
Cheers
