Design Registration
Does anyone out there know about the procedure for registering a design? Pro's and Con's, level of details needed, level of protection provided, cost of creation and/or enforcement?

Its many years since I have done it, so maybe things have changed.
Use a Patent Attorney.
I don't think much of the protection level as an imitator doesn't have to change much much to circumvent your registered design.
But seek professional advice.

Not a problem all you need is a lawer ( patent attorney) I understand you pretty well can't do it yourself, and it costs about $60,000.00

Jacko, what are you wanting to register. Is it furniture design or a tool/product?

Lignum, I was considering the need to register my music stand design, however given both the cost and complexity of registration, and the limited value, I have gone ahead and shown most of the "bits" in my braindump thread, so registration no longer possible (prior art)
Thanks to all for responses. Google search found some good .gov.au sites that gave rather a lot of info. Shouldn't have been so lazy.
