    Default Dial indicator help

Can someone help me understand my dial indicator? The small dial what measurement is that, and the larger dial what is that? Also what is the screw at 7 o'clock for? Very confused. Thanks!

Small inner scale - each number is 0.1 of an inch
Outer scale - each division is 0.001”

Each full turn of the large pointer will move the small inner dial 1 division eg 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 etc, all the way to 9 to 0 which is the limit of 1.00”

    Is the picture upside down?

If it’s the outer screw, it should lock the outer rotating ring/bezel that allows you to 0 (zero) the large pointer on the outer scale.

You are correct it looked different on my phone changed to 7 o'clock in OP for future reference.

Thanks for the explanation that makes sense now!
