Dieter Schmid - Fine Tools
Hi,
Has anybody purchased online from Fine Tools in Germany. I purchased some chisel over two weeks ago and they have been "on their way to the destination country" for 14 days now. I have contacted FineTools and requested some help to find out where they are but they just keep sending me the tracking number which I already have and that gives me no info on where my chisels are. Is this a good company to buy from and does anybay know how I can try and find my parcel.
Hope someone can help.
Cheers,
Peter.

Quality store
Peter
I have purchased a lot through fine-tools.com and can assure you they are a great outfit. Your order will arrive, however can take quite a while. from memory my orders took 3-4 weeks. Part of their success is their incredibly low shipping prices, but that comes at a cost of time.
What chisels did you buy... Two Cherries?
Cheers
James

Thanks James thats good to hear. I guess I am just used to buying stuff from Lee Valley and Lie Nielsen, usually on your door in 7days.
I have ordered some Two Cherry Mortice chisels and a pair of MHG skew chisels.
Thanks

Thanks for that. How long do they take on average. Mine have been 3 weeks now and the tracking number just shows "on its way to destination country".
Should I get worried soon

My experience of economy postage from England is that it takes about 6 weeks. I would guess times for Germany would be similar.

Takes a long time to row the Atlantic.
cheap freight - slow freight.
But the company has already dispatched them then they have done their job well. sounds like your tools are indeed on the slow boat, or in a box somewhere waiting for the rest of the container to be filled, when it's filled it'll be on the plane.Steven Thomas

Thanks all for the feedback. Yes I know that the goods have been dispatched and very quickly after my ordering them .
I dont have a problem with Dieter Schmid I was just wondering if others have ordered from them how long did they take to receice their items.
Postage was "air freight" and I guess I just expected about two weeks would be long enough but it seems it will be longer than that .
