Subwoofer Box - Brisbane
Hi everyone,
I have sent a pm to soundman, as I understand he is experienced in making subwoofer enclosures, but I noticed he has been inactive for a couple of months.
Basically I'm looking at making my own subwoofer for my hifi system at home (and possibly another for a friend).
Unfortunately I don't have the tools or know-how for such a job, but could anyone could give me a quote for a 75L cube (with or without small stands) with an 8",10", or 12" hole for the subwoofer driver, and a rectangular hole in the back for this amplifier: The Apex Junior Subwoofer Amp (measuring 10.5" wide by 12.5" high - so probably something like 9.5 X 11.5 to allow for mounting would work) using 1" mdf.
Chances are I'll go with 12" drivers, so let's assume that for now.
Thanks!
Tom.

Not sure what driver you've got planned, but for DIY there is really only one that comes to mind in 12" and thats the Shiva-X2 and you dont need to make it any where near as big as 75L.
Have a read here
No in terms of getting someone to make it....find a local speaker repair guy. But basically you just need a 1"thick MDF box, glued well and sealed with Bostik 1 (its fire rated and doesn't harden = important).
