Old downloadable text books
Hi, while looking recently for a book mentioned in a timber window frame search, I came across this link which has a number of books on various wood/metalworking subjects.

Thanks for posting the link.
There is absolutely heaps of info on that site, of special interest was the many hand plane restoration articles.
Many hours of browsing to be had, great for a rainy day.

I like reading through the old methods and recipes used for stuff we now just pop down to a hardware store to buy.
The method for hardening spring steel by quenching in "spring water with a little cow manure", and the method of air cooling small steel pieces by tying a piece of wire to the steel and spinning it round and round in air, also tickled my interest
