I wish I could just have a little caravan, near a bubbling creek, surrounded by tall timbers, ferns and frogs. Quiet quiet quiet while I slice away doing my boxes.

    Aaaaahhhhh...... so relaxing.

    I could go right now.....

    Bugger, I can't.... not yet

Without re-reading the entire thread, this one may have been mentioned ...

I have fantasized a workshop without powered equipment, and at the centre would be a Jointmaker tablesaw by Bridge City ...

So did a lot of other people! This one sold TODAY on eBay

Bridge City Tools Jointmaker Pro v 2 with Precision Fence System | eBay

    $1511

Man, that was a vigorous auction.

I was thinking about one, but it would only be for kumiko and for that I could make one with a dozuki blade upside down.

An electron-free workshed would be lovely... but sanding

Planing, cabinet scraping and burnishing can replace sanding in many instances. I hate sanding and always look for an out.

Yes! Only yesterday I mentioned to my wife that I was so pleased to have persevered with learning to use planes reasonably well. 30 seconds with a sharp plane produced a glass like smooth surface on the parts I was working with, negating the need for sanding, which is a task I've always found particularly unenjoyable.

    Kind regards,
    Lance
