Hi Damien
I looked at the Hafele side mounts (without soft close) and got a quote a little higher than you. But I thought the Hetich, slightly cheaper, were of far higher quality - I didn't even trial the Hafele.
SHMBO commented it was like Kio vs Mercedes, and no significant price differential.
Cheers
Graeme

I think my heads going to explode
I have access to the paper hafele catalogue. I am going to look through today and see if they list 2 lines. The difference in price between elraco and hafele is astounding if it's the same item.
I really would prefer not to have to replace these in future but on the other hand the difference in paying $95 for the unbranded, $130 for the elraco hafele, $220 for the accurides and (deep breath) $385 for the hettich is signifigant. I'm inclined to try the elraco product as a compromise.
As i say it's probably worth posting experience with these since they are so often used and people might refer back to this thread in future. Pity the woodwork magazines don't do thorough tests on this stuff to inform us, like "choice" does on appliances and such.I'm just a startled bunny in the headlights of life. L.J. Young.

Maybe we are looking at different runners here, but the Hettich and Hafele ones I looked at, there didn't seem to be a lot of difference ... they where almost identical (price included).
However I do know from actual use that the hafele perform very well and out of the 20 or so drawers we have not had any issues - these include a lot of 900 wide drawers (one being the pot drawer) and 800 wide crockery drawers (these are very heavy).Cheers.
Vernon.

Shop around Damien.
I paid $227.25 for 15 pairs of the Hetich. Equivalent to $151.50 for the ten pairs you say you need. Much less than half the price you are quoting.
Before you buy, I urge you to go to the suppliers and handle the options - you cannot assess the quality from a web photo.
Good Luck

Yes I'll do that if I can get some time. Unfortunately I'm terribly time poor and anyone who lives in Brisbane will tell you getting about the city nowdays is a nightmare.
Would anyone care to suggest other suppliers I might try for better prices ? Elraco has a flat $16 shipping fee which is very fair IMO and some time back they had a presence on this forum. I thought they used to have branches but the website now indicates everything comes from SA ?
I have examined hafele website and an old catalogue and I am pretty sure they quoted on the same item as elraco is selling for much less. Very odd.I'm just a startled bunny in the headlights of life. L.J. Young.

Damien.....You don't have to go anywhere near the City to find the three outlets.
It also helps price-wise if you have an ABN....you then get trade.

I don't mean to labor the point but to get to coopers plains I have to go via the Ipswich motorway (enough said?) or back to Indooroopilly and thread down through Corinda etc or thereabouts. It's a good 45 mins either way and that's a good run. I was stuck on the Ipswich for an hour a couple of weeks ago on my (precious) day off, and that was just getting from just past the Goodna exit to the Redbank exit.
I don't want to bang on about this but my partner has a cronic illness and is basically bedridden, so between spending 12 hours a day getting to work and back and doing all the housework for 2 houses I don't have a lot of time for "shopping". Spending 3 or 4 hours driving across town and looking at runners is a similar investment in time to what some people might set aside for a family holiday.
I'm not complaining mind just trying to put the problem into perspective. This is in part why I have imposed on you all to assist in narrowing down what I need to do to buy these. I was just going to buy the cheapest, now I've got to find a compromise. I am much better informed for your trouble and I am grateful for it. Perhaps in a few weeks I might spend some time on a Saturday morning and have a look. I am fully committed until after easter.
Again thank you for the advice.I'm just a startled bunny in the headlights of life. L.J. Young.

I went to the dentist yesterday at cooparoo. I had a look at white pages for hettich and they were listed at woolongabba or annerly which is nearby so I called to confirm. Got put through to sydney so I got a quote. $156 shipped or thereabouts. Seems it matters a lot who your supplier is. The disparity in these quotes is astounding.
The part code was 1071.8.99. Graeme you don't happen to know the part number of the ones you used ?I'm just a startled bunny in the headlights of life. L.J. Young.
