    Default Drill side handle

Was bought a Power Planter for my birthday - excellent tool - and am using an 18V Ozito cordless drill to power it. Works well except the drill has no - recommended - side handle which because of the torque generated would be a good idea. So my question is does anyone know of a side handle accessory that would likely fit the drill? Failing that a budget priced 18V+ drill with a side handle?

    Cheers

Yes that's getting up there. The problem is that I currently have an Ozito power exchange drill and an 18V one. I also have a Ryobi 14V. I really didn't want to get into a different battery regime: unless it was a really cheap option. I've also checked the 18V I'm using and there's no space for one of the generic handles that can be bought.
So it's looking like an inexpensive drill with side handle that I'm looking for. Perhaps ALDI might have one in their range?

Yes or maybe take a trip to Bunnings to see if they have anything that maybe has a side handle that is not pictured

Go to a flea market, there’s usually an old toolbox or two full of random junk.

Does your drill need the type that clamps around the 43mm collar, or is there a threaded boss to take a screw on handle?

Thanx all. As I said earlier, after an inspection of the drill in question there's no way to attach it to the handle nor is there a space between the chuck and the body - that's taken up with the speed control. So it looks like a cheaper drill but I'm having trouble finding anything below $200 with both battery and side handle. Might just have to do wrist exercises.

    Sikm,
if your 18V Ozito is similar to the one on the Bunnings website, it looks to me there is room _behind_ the handle for the hose clamp or Skot's oil filter gripper. There's no real reason for the handle to be toward the front of the drill, other than that's how it is conventionally done. Mechanicaly, to counter the torque, there is no problem.

    Regards

A photo of the drill would be invaluable

I’d be looking at trying to screw through a worm drive clamp into the plastic just behind the clutch adjuster in multiple locations- wild shot. Otherwise you could make a thin metal “gasket” type thing which would fit between the red and silver plastic sections, using the existing screws- wild shot no2.

Or buying from 2nd shop etc, not many options unfortunately with that drill

just did a Gumtree search for your area, and searched cordless drills, none in Healesville but a few around you ( I think) varied prices too.
