Default Where to get drilling done in Melbourne

I need to build 20 easels. The design calls for the two front legs (ea 1500mm) to have holes drilled every 20mm (or so) starting at 100mm up to the 1200mm mark.

This works out to 56 holes per leg times 40 legs equals 2240 holes.

The material is 42x19mm Tas Oak.

I'm after a service that can do it for me. Suggestions?

Another option is to outsource the whole job, so any ideas there would also be welcome.

    Thumbs up

G'day Ian 56 and welcome to the show!!

Sounds like you need someone with a line boring machine. Can;t help you there as I don't live in Melbourne, or for that matter, Australia at the moment.

Some one with a drill press could easily do it, I would do it if I was in Victoria

easy enough to do your self using a simple drill guide this is a sketch of one
2 pieces of 42x19mm pine screwed together and as many holes as you want
    first hole has locater pin
drill the first hole in the leg then use guide moving along leg with the locater pin locking the guide in position very easy to get repeatable result
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything, but they
bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs .

    Hi
Fubar is spot on. Easy peasy, I would even clamp maybe four legs together and drill them at the same time.
    Cheers
    Bill.

2240 holes on a drill press? no thank you I would be looking at an automated process. Mind you drill it in larger sizes then rip and finish would cut it down.
