    Default Dropside Cot Parts

I am about to make a dropside cot for an impending grandchild. Does anyone know where I can get the concealed dropside mechanism from?
There was a place in the US, but I can't remember their name.

Default How about not using drop sides?

Firstly, congrats on the first grandchild.

My understanding is that drop sides will soon be banned (if not already) in the US as too many infants have been killed or severly injured by dropsides and I have never seen an aftermarket dropside mechanism that I could be satisfied with.

Perhaps it would be best to approach it another way - say fixed sides but with say a dip that would allow enough access for the parent without straining their backs but high enough that wont allow to infant to fall out.

If you are deadset on a dropside, Hafele do sell a dropside mechanism...

Default What ever happened to "Safety Cots"

Used to be a Aussie staple, keep the critters and cats etc. out.
We bought one second hand for $50.00 painted it, new mattress etc, sold it after 3 kids for $200.00.
One great thing is that the cot base can/does sit quite high..good for backs...
Searched high and low, cannot find an image anywhere...fully enclosed, nowhere for baby to get out, no bars to trap heads etc.
