Tapered antique oak picture frames
Hi There,
I am a picture framer in New Zealand looking to gain some further knowledge on joining new or antique tapered frames pieces after the mitre cutting has been done. Mitre cutting has been performed using my Makita Compound sliding saw. Joining these neatly is my next challenge.
Is there a technique for joining the corners?
Are there tools/clamps antique or new that could or should be utilized?
And for future cutting is there a chart available (data on degrees and angles etc) anywhere that I could refer back to if I wanted to increase the taper?
Look forward to the replies.
