    Default Durden Junior bits

I was recently given a Durden junior joiner and as with most others I have seen some of the diecast ali. wing nuts on the fence are broken , so
I'm wishn' an hopin' that a member may have saved a couple from somewhere or knows of someone that may have a couple , a moulding head
also would be a huge bonus.
    Thanks Lads and Ladies
    Jim.

If you have a look at the carbatec site and a couple of other engineering suppliers, you will find threaded knobs of all sorts, that may be a better item than the durden came with origianaly.

If ya cant find something to fit there, I can lay my hands on a couple of knobs that take off the shelf nuts and bolts.

Of course there is the other option, that is to make the knobs up yourself by various means.

I have certainly brassed threaded rod into wing nuts before.

    cheers

Thanks for the post soundman , I would like to keep it as original as possible hence the ali. w/nuts.

There are some things about the early durden machines that realy doo need some improvement from the point of view of safety and ease of use...so please don't think you need to keep it original at the cost of those.

Even in the day, lots of people replaces those dodgy wing nuts and stuff.

I do hope if yours has the moulder, that you do not use the old style cutter heads.

    cheers
