Dying Cypress Wood Chips
Hello All
After searching the Sydney area for suppliers of red dyed coloured cypress wood chips for our garden we have decide to research dying plain ol cypress wood chips ourself.
Can anyone help?
The idea is to lay out the wood chips mulch on the garden and then using a garden sprayer (or similar) apply a diluted dye to the surface of the chips. 180 square metres.
My thinking is that this way we can re-apply the dye when they eventually fade. We can also choose the colours we want.
What dye will work? How about normal fabric dyes?
Can anyone suggest a cost effective alternative, such as diluted powder paint etc.
Any special techniques or tips the make it hold longer.
Bearing in mind they will be outside.
Thanks for your help

just a thought but have you thought about hiring a concrete mixer from your local hire place, put in your wood chip with the dye mix and let it rip. this does work as i have sen it on those tv garden shows, but as for keping the dye topped up when it's on your garden, you would have to mix the dye solution in a weed sprayer like a 5 litre one and spray the chips insitu. hope this gives you some help
