Angle grinder buiscuit jointer attachments
I've seen a few ads for biscuit jointer attachments for 4'' angle grinders. Anyone used one of these? Do they work? If so, how well?

As the cost of the GMC biscuit joiner is about the same as the attachment and an angle grinder you would be better of buying a proper one.
Adding and removing the attachment of an angle grinder is a pest and the GMC has had good reports so why bother.

Have a mate who bought one 8 years ago , they were $89 then and they work, it did the job for him, made some furniture with it ok, but as Sturdee says why bother today with a GMC unit the price they are

Not sure what the current price is but from memory the GMC was about $ 90.
For your info here is a link to the review of the GMC BJ that Dean did http://www.onlinetoolreviews.com/reviews/gmcBJ110.htm . For the price I think this is much better.

I bought one years ago when they were around $80 and biscuit joiners were $300+. The thing works well and I haven't had any problems, it also allows me to get more use out of the angle grinder.
Now that the real machines are cheaper I would purchase one on them simply as it is a pain to have to take it on and off the grinder. The attachements can be found now for around $40.Now proudly sponsored by Binford Tools. Be sure to check out the Binford 6100 - available now at any good tool retailer.

Me thinks you'd be better off getting a Plate Joiner (Biscuit joiner) Freud makes one and sell here at $100 USD and it is a dandy. I have one and love it and use it a bunch. Couple of years ago I stumbled onto a sale where they listed 1000 biscuits in a jar. I got one and thought this will last a lifetime... Ha Ha Ha... I have picked up another of those jars and am almost out of them.
"Biscuits Rule" and you better get a deticated tool than a makeshift pretend toy, because once you begin to use them , you will find constant applications where they help so well.
BTW I still make M&T joints and Dowel joints and Dado and Dovetails but When doing Cabinet faces and such, they are a god send. aligning glueups and panels as well as repairing furniture and even putting together the wood frame restoring old Model T Fords, they are so good and handy and make the framework so much stronger than the original.

Eddie, I bought one from the Adelaide wood show a few years ago. It was heavy duty plastic. I could never get it to work quite right. I bought a Ryobi Biscuit joiner with a bag full of biscuits for about $80 at the next ww show. Maybe it depends on the attachment, mine was only about $60, so you get what you pay for, but the ryobi B/J is far better.
I would put a bit more money toward it & get the real deal, even if it is only a cheapy, but buy the best you can afford, taking into consideration how much you are likely to use it. My sister uses hers quite a lot, & I prefer dowels. There are a couple of other systems on the market that may also be worth a look.
Good luck

There is also a GMC dowel joiner, it does double dowels for joining like the Biscuit Joiner.

Ive got the gmc doweller and the bikkie joiner
Had em for a year or so.
Haven't used either of them
Would love a domino just to fill the shelf with unused power tools
Originally looked at the grinder attachments but there really was little dollar advantage and I would have needed another grinder. As I've got 1 grinder with a cutoff disc and the other with a grinding disc.
It is a pain removing and refitting attachments when you need the other tool.

If you really want a cheap solution buy a slot cutter bit for the router. Not that I'm cheap but it was more than adequate for my needs

Not wanting to blow to much on a BJ I picked up the Carba-Tec version for a bit over $100. Not the greatest bit of machinery but much better than adapting an angle grinder IMHO.
