Anyone know of an easy way to remove pencil marks from ply without changing the ply color?

I find Metho the best. Sometimes with fine steel wool although on some woods steel wool is no good . It sends it black . So I use a rag instead .

My worry is the Metho will change the shade.
I'll have test on some offcuts tomorrow and see how she goes.

Have you tried an eraser/rubber....
Whenever the apprentices mark a deck with a heavy hand we pass them a rubber to make it better....."All the gear and no idea"

Unfinished ply? I'd doubt meths would change the colour. Csn you test on the back or somewhere inconspicuous?

Removing pencil marks from wood???
Laws of physics. What makes graphite float?
Actually almost any solvent should lift the graphite off of the wood. However, if the pencil marks are gouged into the wood you may half to put water on the wood after the solvent dries and then an iron to lift the gouges.
