Default Eco Wood Treatment Or Lifetime Wood Treatment Use

Has anyone ever tried the wood treatment Eco or Lifetime brand? I have researched it online & it is supposed treat wood & give it the gray weathered patina of old wood. I would like any comments about the products if you have personally used or have seen the effects after use. Any likes dislikes would be appreciated! I am looking for a formula to make new pine look old & gray. Thanks in advance!!

Model makers, who usually work in pale wood, use steel wool dissolved in white vinegar to give a permanent grey, weathered look to their models. Just get a large-ish bottle of generic white vinegar, take a bit out of the top, then shove in as much steel wool as will fit loosely & still leave a bit of air space at the top. Leave in a well ventillated space for several days until the steel wool is reduced to sludge, test & repeat until the desired colour is acheived.

Note: will produce hydrogen (KA-Boom) and possibly other stinky gasses while digesting. Avoid steel wool pads with soap, and stainless steel pads - both for fairly obvious reasons.
