This looks quality stuff midnight, might be worth investing in a few things although it all seems out of stock.

Yeah the Tandem box might be a little luxurious for the shed. I think I will stick with the Metabox.

I do a layout similar to Elan but on a sheet of 3mm MDF.

Then I drill out all the screw holes. Next I put this template inside the carcase carefully aligning the front edges and, with a basic awl through those holes, make "starter holes" in the MDF for all screws. Quick, easy, and virtually foolproof.

Sounds like plan a Graham. I though about buying some of the Blum jigs as well as I intend to do a fair bit more of this type of cabinetry.

Also is it preferable to use whiteboard for the carcasses and MDF melamine for drawers fronts/doors?

I used to borrow a friends Blum jig; they are good.

But if you are doing more than 2 or 3 cabinets, my template is a lot quicker, and probably more accurate.

That's generally the way to go.

For painted doors, get the satin finish white MDF instead of textured because it's easier to prep for paint.

Well apparently there is a shortage of whiteboard atm. I can’t seem to find anyone who will sell the Laminex trade essentials whiteboard.

Laminex said they won’t sell to a non account holder due to the shortage.

Might have to look a using the Bunnings stuff. Anyone know if it is comparable in quality to the Laminex or Formica particle boards?

Not to put too fine a point on it but.... it's bloody whiteboard.

If it makes you feel any better, the Bunnings stuff is made by Borg (who bought Carter Holt Harvey), who are one of the biggest manufacturers of sheet goods in the country.

Fair enough then, I just assumed like all things there is good and bad.

I might not have any other options anyway.

Looks like there is no MR whiteboard anywhere around here for sale [emoji19]. Bunnings doesn’t have any and the cabinet shops won’t sell any as they are unsure about their supply.
