Ok. In a piece of 'warranty' work I have replaced the incandescent lamp with 2 x 8W in-line flouro tubes. The benefit is that there is an improved dispersion of light (which wasn't really a problem) and most importantly it runs a great deal cooler.
The incandescent light is now mounted proudly on my bandsaw using rare-earth magnets which was in desperate need of more lighting.
