    Default Electric Paint Can Shaker

    Has anyone made one of these?
    I see there are various ways and designs about.
    Each seems to have their own advantages and disadvantages.....

    I'm thinking of making one as I hate shaking cans....lol

    I will use a motor, of some description and a timer, probably 12VDC, and mount a power supply on the same board.
    I don't want to use a battery drill, jigsaw or reciprocating saw.
    Still working out how fast the gearmotor output needs to be and how fancy the movement can/needs to be......all good fun....

    I am looking at 250 RPM atm, but that can change in an instant.

    Can't comment on these but I've seen a recipro saw used for this with the can taped or held with rubber bands to a blade.

    Years back I had an old spindle Moulder that was converted to a Bobbin sander using two motors.
    I could take the belt off what spun the Bobbin and leave the other belt on for the oscillations and tape a can to the spindle.
    A little over the top but worked ok.
    Come to think of it I picked up a couple of old crank units a few years back, they’re in the junk pile. I’ll dig them out, might be an idea in them.

    I think I have settled on a design. I'm looking at shaking the can vertically to keep it compact.
    Something like this.

    Dunno what they were for, there’s a counter weight etc.
    Over the top again but could be a use for one of them.

    I can't see the pictures but I picked up one of these from the side of the road: ALDI Vibration Plate reviews | ProductReview.com.au to use as a parts cleaner/rust remover by making it into this kind of thing: Miracle Cleaning Solution Removes Oil, Rust and Grease in 30 minutes - YouTube and Large Vibration Cleaner In Action - YouTube. You gave me an idea... just have a few different sized plastic container to fit different sized cans and now I have two uses for it. ;-)
