    Default electric shock

    G'day.

Very minor request considering what is going on in ex-Yasi land and in VIC.

Long time reader (too full of great advice) first time poster. I am in Wagga and we just had a rainfall event that before it hit, from a distance, looked like fog/smoke. When it hit I reckon it was (conservatively) between 20-50mm/hr intesity in 10 minutes. The water/rain/mist got blown/sprayed/sucked (very fine) inside the (all windows closed in the house) everywhere.

Ripped up my poly tube greenhouse (half grown tommies - bugga).

    BUT

I flicked the switch on the open sided shed (12mx12m) light switch and as I was doing it I got that "Jeez I'm glad I'm wearing proper boots as I leant over the electric fence feeling.

I flicked the light switch off with some PVC pipe (very dry).

What is the procedure to make the shed and fuse box safe (besides getting a sparky in asap (2000hrs local time))?.

the wiring is 40yrs old, the fuse box has unfamiliar breakers in it. I'm going no where near it until I have sensible advise. Which includes doing nothing until the electrician comes.

    Cheers,

    Hard(now a bit soft)reset.

    S.

    Hi,
You have given your self the best advice and second best, don't do any thing until things have dried out and it is day light so you can see what you are doing with out putting lights on.
    That's this retired sparkie's advice.
    Regards
    Hugh

Enough is enough, more than enough is too much.
