Default English Speaker Cabinet Wood Veneer Restore

    Hi folks,
I am new to the forum and this is my first post.
I have got a pair of speaker approx 20 years old, the wood veneer is walnut, there are scratches at the top of the speaker, I would like to know how to restore back to original condition.

I searched on the forum and figure out the Shellac is the way to go.
    My question is:
    1. To remove the scratch, do I use shellac flakes or liquid form shellac.
    2. How do I apply the shellac, with a cheesecloth??
    3. What do I do after the shellac is applied, do I need to sand the cabinet to get rid of the scratch.
    4. Would Shellac darkened the wood grain at all, there are different sort of Shellac as well, I am confused which one is the most neutral.
    4. There is a slightly chipped on the corner, how do I restore the chipped corner.
    5. How do I get a matched wood veneer to match the missing piece.
    Thanks all

G'day, Photo would help, if you can get one.

Also i'm not saying the veneer is not real wood but around 20 years ago the majority of speakers were walnut contact. Much of which was cleverly disguised as wood because they had figured out how to put grain patterns into vinyl.

So a pic would be great.

    Cheers

    Hi Steve,
    Thanks for your advice.
The speaker is defintely real wood veneer and not vinyl, this is an expensive speaker over $3000.
This is the picture, one showing the mark on the cabinet, one is showing the chipped corner.
    Many thanks
