Default Good exchange rate - put your web links here

Seems like the perfect time to pick up hand tools and hardware from the US. If you have good links to online merchants would you put them here? I don't want to miss out on good buys

    Cheers
    Michael

Lee Valley for me too. Spent $508 and saved $150 on Carbatec prices. Put the order through Monday lunchtime with UPS postage at $65. Arrived Friday lunchtime!

Makita Tools | Dewalt Power Tools | Porter Cable Tools | Milwaukee Tools | ToolKing.com

Good prices and they do express delivery to Australia at reasonable rates too.

Toolking.com is great for air tools and the odd Jet Parallel clamp.

www.woodcraft.com. A good alternative to Rockler.

    Forgot to mention ebay us!

Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more works a treat, I Find most tools on there at a discount, they also have free shipping in the US on most orders- I have them sent to my address at myus.com then it's all consolidated into one shipment to me in Melbourne saving on postage costs.
Also use Woodworking Tools Supplies Hardware Plans Finishing - Rockler.com , Buy INCRA Tools Online - www.incrementaltools.com :: INCRA Precision Woodworking Tools, INCRA Fence, TS Fences, Router Tables, LS Systems , and Woodworking Plans & Tools | Fine Woodworking Project & Supplies at Woodcraft

I assumed everyone would be aware that there are voltage differences when buying power tools from the USA, and that a step down transformer is necessary.

I think it becomes worthwhile (cost wise) if more than one purchase is contemplated in the future. Having the ability to use 120v equipment can open up your options when looking for a particular power tool.

Yes I was aware of the voltage differences and the need to have a step down transformer.

I am more interested in the Hz. What hertz do these tools operate at? If it is different to that of our 240V system how do the tools cope? Or does the transformer change the hertz too?

Victor Machinery - Metalworking tools and supplies

Just dropped a bundle on mainly small bits and pieces such as special size taps and dies and corresponding drill.

Also some reamers and other metal working stuff.

They have a great range of gear at very good prices, not only are they way cheaper than local suppliers such as Blackwoods and H&F, but they have stuff that I haven't been able to find locally.

Can't speak to the shipping cost, but McFeely's generally gives good service and has a wide selection.

This link is to their international shipping FAQs page, and you can browse on from there.
