Does any have experience with Lee Valley's estimates?

    Thanks in advance

Probably not alot of help to you but thought Id share my experiences with shipping stuff from the states. I have a lot of stuff (hand tools mainly) sent from Luthiers Mercantile International in the states and the most cost effective option is usually airmail. The items (max weight so far 12kg) usually arrive in Adelaide within 7 days. The cost is not much different than the courier option.

A good point Colin. The people I often deal with in the states (Luthiers Mercantile Int) actually advise that if you ship to Australia via the courier option there may be delays.

I've ordered goodies from them every few months for years now. Only one opps - goods were shipped surface instead of air -ONCE - I got a nice apology and a refund. Never had a lost item (fingers crossed).

CanadaPost has been making things a bit difficult for P.O. box holders lately, and have stopped their 'Air Parcel' service to Australia - there is now only the 'Express' service, 'Small Parcel Air' for under 2kg, and surface. However I have been getting surface in about 6-and-a-bit weeks, which is better than the USA get from Canada.

Sometimes I think CanadaPost is there to stop the Canadians taking over the world.
