Expression's of interest - OWE
G'day Ladies & Gents,
I'm looking for expressions of interest from those who would want to attend an OWE (Open Workshop Event) @ my humble establishment. At this stage it would be held in the new year & numbers would be limited.
You can blame Rocker for the idea!
He has suggested a demo on spray finishing with lacquer and the necessary pre-spraying preperation. Now this is open to consensus
A door prize will be on offer..... maybe a marking gauge??
Any feedback on this would help.

Nope. Currently I am a National New Store Manager for an aust retail company but in a previous time of my life I was a furniture finisher (my piece of paper calls me a french polisher though, but thats not technically correct), hence why I moderate the 'Finishing' forum.

Let us know when you firm up some dates Major. I have a truck load of FF points to burn and was trying to think of an excuse to go East sometime.

I'd love to attend what is sounding like a master class, unfortunately I'm about 1000 klicks away
How about a photo record for us people unable to attend, ala Bob Smalser?

Like squizz says, "firm up some dates Major. I have a truck load of FF points to burn'' 'cos I have some FF points up my sleeve too. on top of that, my kids, (if you can call 22,20, & 19 kids) live in Brissy & I haven't seen them for 7 months.
On top of that, I have a new bourn interest in spraying liquor ( & lacquer)
Can I bring my gun too?? Huh, can I? Huh? Huh? can I?
Now I'm gunna help ya pick a date or I’ll have less chance of being there.
1. not the first week in Jan &
2. not the last week in Jan.
Now if you add in wot Shane said, I think you should aim for the weekends of either 15-16 Jan or 22-23 Jan & I like 15-16 better BUT, that may not suit Shane.
Whatever date it is, I'm interested, but I have a man away on hols about the same time Shane is & the Minister for Domestic Affairs & Finance is a school teacher & she starts work again on the last week in Jan & I have a MUCH better chance of getting to Brissy if she comes too. (shoe shopping )
Even though I'm a tidy house guest (won't mention the appetite or thirst ) I have a place or 2 to stay while I'm in Bris, wot side of town? I have relo's in Parkinson (Algester in old money) & Samford.
These OWE ideas are not bad, if anyone is so inclined that they'd travel to F'nFNQ (short for 'a long way up the East Coast) I'd have a weekend workshop at my place. (The fridge works, biggest beer fridge you ever saw, 2 door Oxford set at 4 degrees ) Not sure what we'd work on though, I suppose we could mow the lawn.... (5 acres )Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

Major,
I'll be there with bell's on....(and for most people that's not a good look!)
I've got a truckload of FF points to burn too! (But I think I'll borrow the girlie's car and drive)
Any time after 12th Jan, but not the 19th March! (another wedding! )
I'll wrap the pencil Sharpener for the door prize!
Cheers,
P

Would I ever love to get to this OWE. But it's a hike from SW WA. Can someone take notes and do a LONG post? Or how about a traveling workshop? All the "amateur" woodworking guys I know over here have horror stories about problems with lacquer spraying. I would pay money to attend a seminar on spray finishing.
