Good on yah Zed, you're a published woody now. Put the word out that you're doing reviews and people might start sending you free handplanes

Yeah, Zed's article notwithstanding, couldn't help but draw unfavourable comparisons between AWR and the most recent issue of the other local woody mag. There would have to be at least 5 times the useful content!

Yes, a nice LV mid sized shoulder plane review would be nice. No offence intended to Derek but I realy think another opinion of their products would do LV some good.

Now if Rob Lee reads that you might have a chance Zed.

PS I'll take my commision when you get the second plane to review.

    Cheers,
I am still trying to work out whether you think AWR or AW is better.

    Thanks Bob.

Rocker, it took me about 5 minutes to 'read' the last AWW, and 4 1/2 of those were spent on the article on the Wright Flyer. This issue of AWR should give me a bit of bedtime reading for the rest of the week. AWW seems to be getting lighter and lighter. That's just my opinion.

    Cheers,
    IW

AW has always been a joke, and AWR has gone downhill slowly since the first issue.

Someone should start a thread on the best mag and why

AWW has always been a crummy backyard blitz type mag.

AWR seems to favour the capital city school trained woodies, which is sad as it has so much potential.

AWW used to have lotsa ads but they now have too many ads just flogging stuff for themselves. This mag has always shouted to me that its not run by woodies but by (wannabe) slick journo's.

showing slight bias here but I feel that the AWR is better - partially as they have 3 months between issues to come up with decent articles rather than pumping them thru every month.

saw the ad for carba tec 17 bandsaw for $$1295 on special!!! I wonder if they proce drop is due to the hafco being the same price....

    Slight hijack alert:eek:

I had a call from someone at Timbecon a couple of days ago re: the expired shop vacuum cleaner. Sold me a new Orange jobbie:eek:

He mentioned that this coming weekend (3rd/4th Dec) their web site will have some nice specials on...

    Usual disclaimers.

    Cheers!
